If the Sex and the City prequel, The Carrie Diaries, ever hits the silver screen, series creator Candace Bushnell knows just the lady who would make a great Charlotte York in the early years.

“You know, I don’t know… casting is like kismet. I’m going to get into trouble for this, but I was looking at some pictures of Selena Gomez today and thinking she’d make a really good young Charlotte,” Candace dished this week. “She’s so pretty. I was like… gosh, wouldn’t she be great?”

Candace revealed her choice during an interview with The Daily Caller as she promoted her new SATC novel, Summer and the City. The novelist confirms that talks are underway to bring a prequel of the popular HBO series and subsequent film series to the theaters, according to Bushnell. The film will follow the lives of the four main characters — Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda — and focus on the early days of Carrie’s life in 1980s New York City, before she became a top Big Apple sex columnist.

Selena, who made her big screen debut in Ramona and the Beezus, is making headlines for her role in the new summer comedy Monte Carlo.

Paris Hilton Burglar Sentenced To Two Years In Prison

The California man convicted of trying to break in to Paris Hilton’s Los Angeles home last summer has been sentenced to two years in state prison.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Kellogg handed down the sentence against Nathan Lee Parada, 32, at a hearing on Wednesday. The jurist also ordered that Parada undergo mental health counselling. A jury took less than an hour to convict the would-be burglar of felony attempted residential burglary last April.

During the trial, Paris testified that she was awoken on the morning of Aug. 24 to the sound of Parada banging on her window with a knife. It was the hotel heiress’ now ex-boyfriend who wrestled the man to the ground, holding him until the authorities arrived. Parada later told a detective that he planned to steal as much as he could carry from Paris’ home before moving to a deserted island.

Parada’s defense team argued that he’d been off his antidepressant medication for days before the botched break-in.

Denise Richards is a new mom again after quietly adopting a baby girl to add to her brood.

Eloise Joni, named after Denise’s mother, Joni, who lost her battle with cancer in 2007, is the latest addition to the Richards gang. The former Bond Girl, now 40, already has two daughters — Sam, 7, and Lola, 6 — from her messy four year marriage to cracked-out sitcom star Charlie Sheen. The girls played a pivotal role in naming their new baby sis, Richards’ rep told PEOPLE Wednesday.

“Eloise Joni Richards is named after Denise’s mom [Joni], and Denise and her daughters Sami and Lola chose the name Eloise. Denise and Eloise’s big sisters couldn’t be happier and feel incredibly blessed.”

Nightclub Conned in the Name of Kim Kardashian

A California nightclub was conned of $15,250 by a promoter who promised several appearances by Kim Kardashian at the nightclub.

The Palladium Nightclub owner has filed a lawsuit in Modesto suing the promoter Mark Reeder of Logantown Entertainment for breach of contract and not returning the upfront money paid to him.

Kim, 30, is not included personally in the lawsuit.

The court document states: "Plaintiff agreed to pay for and defendants and each of them agreed to provide an artist known as Kim Kardashian to perform in Modesto, Sacramento and Salinas, Calif. In connection with that agreement, the plaintiff caused to be advanced to defendants and each of them the sum of $3750.00 toward the Sacramento engagement, $5750 towards the Salinas engagement, and $5750.00 towards the Modesto engagement. In reliance on the agreement, plaintiff expended sums for the purchase of flyers, posters and tickets, and paid for radio advertising. These sums total in excess of $15,250.00."

Pamela Anderson sued for $ 22.5 million

Former ‘Baywatch’ star Pamela Anderson has been sued for USD 22.5 million by her former boyfriend, Laurence Hallier, for allegedly failing to promote the sale of his apartments.

Hallier, who is a property developer, has claimed that the 43-year-old actress was sued for the hefty amount which represented losses from the unsold units at the Panorama Towers in Las Vegas.

Anderson has also been accused of cancelling her meetings connected with the venture, reported Contactmusic.

Hallier’s lawsuit comes after Anderson filed a claim against her ex-boyfriend for not handing over the condominium he promised her for promoting the development.

In her suit, Anderson was entitled to a USD 1 million if she doesn’t get the property, a claim denied by Hallier.

The couple had an on/off affair for some time, before they finally called it quits last year.

The ‘Barb Wire’ star, who has two children, Brandon, 15, and Dylan, 13, from her marriage to ‘Motley Crue’ rocker Tommy Lee, has battled money problems in recent years and moved into a trailer park last year while her home in Malibu, California, was being renovated.

Halle Berry Accuses Gabriel of Child Neglect

Halle Berry has accused Gabriel Aubry of putting their daughter at risk in court.

The former couple is locked in a bitter battle over the care of three year old Nahla, and a lawyer for Halle has served a lengthy document claiming Gabriel has violated their custody agreement.

According to gossip website TMZ, the court documents go into great detail about how Halle is unsure of Gabriel’s parenting skills, including detailing one incident outside of the US, when he allegedly neglected Nahla, putting her safety at risk.

Oscar winner Halle – who split from Gabriel in April 2010 – is asking the judge to rule her ex-partner has violated their custody agreement. As he was not present in court, the judge has set a hearing for a later date.

Halle, 44, first raised questions over Gabriel’s parenting in January, and subsequently launched a bid for full custody of Nahla.

A spokesperson for the actress said at the time: “Halle has serious concerns for her daughter’s well-being while in the care of her father and is prepared to take all necessary steps to protect her.”

The 34-year-old model hit back at the claims however, calling Halle “irresponsible”.

He said in a statement: “Gabriel fully believes that a consistent and balanced living situation and two loving parents are crucial for their child.

“He will always defend his rights as a father and will always consider Nahla’s best interest. Halle’s continuing allegations in the press are untrue and irresponsible.”

Hollywood actress Julia Roberts, who has three kids with husband Danny Moder, is taking sewing and piano classes to keep herself busy.

Bride-to-be Kate Moss has hired a team of transvestites to chaperone guests at her wedding to rocker Jamie Hince on July 1.

Mel Gibson Reaches Divorce Deal With Ex-Wife

Mel Gibson has reached a divorce settlement with Robyn Moore after two years. A lawyer for The Beaver actor’s wife of 28 years – who started divorce proceedings in 2009, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ – appeared before a judge on Wednesday morning (28.06.11) to say they had reached a full agreement, including dividing their property.

The couple – who have six sons and one daughter together – wed in 1980 and reportedly did not have either a pre or post nuptial agreement, meaning all assets accrued during their marriage would be divided equally under Californian law.

Divorce attorney Stacy Phillips said in 2009: “Any income earned or property purchased during the marriage is considered communal property.”

Although no details of the settlement have been released, Mel was estimated to be worth $900 million in 2006, and owns at least three properties in Malibu, California – said to be worth more than $16 million combined – an island in Fiji and a ranch in Costa Rica.

Mel has also starred in over 40 films and been a successful director, helming blockbusters including Braveheart, The Passion of the Christ and Apocalypto.

Lawyers on both sides are now drafting the final paperwork in the case and the judgment is expected to be entered at the end of August, making the divorce official. In the meantime, Mel is also in court with his ex-girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, locked in a battle over custody arrangements for their two year old daughter, Lucia.

Charlie Sheen Inks New Sitcom Deal

A new gig for newly-single Charlie Sheen: The dissed and dismissed Two and a Half Men actor is set to make his TV comeback — and we’re just as surprised as you are.

Sheen’s signed a new deal with Lionsgate Television — the studio behind TV hits such as Mad Men, Weeds, and Nurse Jackie — to star in a new sitcom, RadarOnline said Monday. His role will be similar (read: exactly the same) to his character on Two and a Half Men, only raunchier, a spywitness shares.

“It’s still a risk, but the risk is worth it because so many people are interested in Charlie and his wacky life they are bound to watch the show. Networks and cable are bidding on the show right now, with TBS being the front runner,” the insider adds. “[Lionsgate Television] has committed to ten episodes up front with the option to pick-up and produce 90 more episodes if the ratings prove to be successful. This means the sitcom could be on TV for 8 years, which is a long time!”

While he won’t be getting anywhere near his monstrous US$2 million-per-episode Two and a Half Men rate, if the show’s a hit, Sheen will make more money than ever before. Imagine all the completely-legal shenanigans he can get up to with all that money!

Lionsgate has also optioned releasing Charlie’s recent live stage show that he embarked on after being fired. Meanwhile, Hollywood snitch Janet Charlton was on to something when she dished that Sheen’s Men character, Charlie Harper, would met the ultimate demise on the upcoming ninth season of the CBS sitcom. Warner Bros. producers have ordered that writers kill off the Harper character so that Sheen can never again appear on the show again, new reports claim. Ashton Kutcher will join the cast in a new lead role when Men returns to the small screen this fall.

Naturally, the hard-partying pop tart already has a party lined up for the Independence Day weekend. Lohan will reportedly be a guest at a celebrity bash in New York’s ritzy Hamptons on Saturday.

“Lindsay will have the ankle bracelet taken off sometime today. Lindsay is relieved to put this behind her,” a source tells Radar.

In the meantime, Lindsay still must complete community service, attend an anti-shoplifting class, and undergo psychological counseling, per the terms of her plea deal on misdemeanor theft charges last month.

Tia Mowry Welcomes Baby Boy

Over the weekend, Mowry Tweeted that she’d have to sit out Sunday night’s BET Awards because she was due to give birth. And right on schedule, the ’90s sitcom star and her husband of two years, actor Cory Hardrict, welcomed a son in Los Angeles this morning, her rep tells Us Weekly. Mowry and Hardrict, who tied the knot in 2008, announced the pregnancy in January. The still-unnamed tot is first child for the 32-year-old actress, whose pregnancy was documented by The Style Network for a show that will air later this year.

It’s been a big summer for the Mowry Twins: Tia’s sister, Tamara, wed FOX News’ Adam Housley, last month.

The Sister, Sister star and her husband of two years, Cory Hardrict, welcomed their first son in Los Angeles on Tuesday (28Jun11).

Mowry's pregnancy was documented by The Style Network in the U.S. for a show to air later this year (11).

On Monday morning Kim and her sister, Kourtney Kardashian, visited the Vera Wang boutique in New York shopping for a wedding gown.

Vera is a Kardashian family friend and Kim's sister, Khloe Kardashian, also wore a custom-made Vera Wang gown to her wedding to Lakers Lamar Odom in 2009.

According to Page Six, Kim has asked the staff at Vera Wang's company to sign a confidentiality agreement.

As to the wedding gown, Page Six sources say that Vera Wang is designing two, not one, wedding gowns for the sumptuously endowed reality TV star.

Lady Gaga Involved in a Scam Scandal

Not all of the proceeds from the bracelets sold by Lady Gaga to raise funds for the earthquake-riddled Japan found their way to the destination. Business news website Business Insider reports that on Saturday a class action lawsuit was filed against the Judas singer which accuses her of hanging on to some of the money raised and puffing out the shipping charges.

Lady Gaga, born Stefani Germanotta, had been selling bracelets called “We Pray for Japan” for $5 apiece.

It happened on the same Saturday that Lady G was participating in MTV Music Video Aid Japan Show held in Chiba City; the concert that also was to benefit the Japanese Red Cross. Talking to Us Weekly on Saturday she gushed about how much she was affected by the recent Japanese disasters, what with her numerous Japan fans. “It’s hard to watch a country struggle,” she said adding that she was stifling the wish to cry reminding herself how strong the Japanese people were in the face of the misfortune.

The law firm that filed the suit hasn’t revealed yet how it came by the information that it used to bring the charges.

The Ugly Betty’s star America Ferrera’s romance has finally brought her to the altar, her rep divulged to PEOPLE. This week she exchanged vows with Ryan Piers Williams in an exclusive ceremony at which only family members and close friends were invited.

Ferrera, 27, and her boyfriend, director Williams, have known each other for many years. They got to know each other when the actress was brought in to play in Williams’ student film at the University of Southern California. In 2007 they settled down together and had been engaged in an unostentatious relationship until it evolved into an engagement (last June).

Discussing her engagement with PEOPLE, Ferrera said they had bonded from the start feeling in each other the same passion for what they were doing, their professional interests being “something that really drew us to each other.”

'Ex'chequer Charlie Sheen's Paycheck Garnished for $55,000

Brooke Mueller's lawyers have asked Charlie Sheen's former bosses, Warner Bros. Television, to garnish $55,000 a month from any payments due to the former Two and a Half Men star.

The amount represents Charlie's monthly child support obligation for his twin sons with Brooke, Max and Bob, under the former couple's divorce settlement of May 2.

The request is legally binding as it is based on a ruling last Friday by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Hank Goldberg.

Sources close to Mueller tell TMZ that Sheen has not defaulted on his payments, but Brooke wants to ensure regular flow of child support in case he runs low on cash.

Earlier this year, Sheen's attorney Marty Singer had reportedly sent a letter to Warner Bros and CBS demanding that Sheen be paid for the remaining eight episodes of Men that were never filmed in the wake of the actor's erratic behavior.

Aishwarya Rai No More Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine

UTV has officially announced that their film Heroine, headlining Aishwarya Rai, has been dropped because of Aishwarya's pregnancy.

The film was announced with much fanfare at the Cannes Film Festival on May 13.

The film began production on June 7 in Mumbai.

On June 20, Amitabh Bachchan announced over Twitter that Aishwarya, 37, and Abhishek Bachchan, 35, are expecting their first child together.

A press statement released by UTV today states:

"At this point nothing is more important than Aishwarya's well being and good health. In that context, we have all mutually agreed that the best step would be to avoid shooting further rather than proceeding with an incredibly demanding schedule over the coming months. Even as we will truly miss this opportunity to work with Aishwarya, the entire unit wishes her the very best for the exciting time ahead."

According to Mid Day, Aishwarya is five months pregnant and director Madhur Bhandarkar is not prepared to take any chances.

A ten day schedule for the film has already been shot and special sets erected. As a result, cancellation of the project will entail losses for co-producers UTV and Madhur Bhandarkar.

Salman Khan Plays Katrina Kaif's Knight in Shining Armor

Salman Khan intervened to stop disruption of Katrina Kaif's shoot for a deodorant commercial at Mehboob Studios in Mumbai.

Members of FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) stopped the shoot because Katrina hasn't signed on as federation member; the busy star hasn't had the time to complete the registration formalities.

The disruption left Katrina visibly upset; word about the incident quickly traveled to Salman Khan who intervened on her behalf.

Salman spoke to federation members and assured them that Katrina would complete the registration process, and they allowed the shoot to continue.

Dinesh Chaturvedi, President-FWICE says, "We didn't halt the shoot, but we wanted to know why Katrina still isn't a member of our organization. I understand she has a busy schedule, but it doesn't take that long to finish the formalities. Every one from Amitabh Bachchan to Shah Rukh Khan has registered with us."

Acknowledging Salman's intervention, Chaturvedi said:

"I did get a call from Salmanbhai saying that the needful will be done. I am speaking only for the benefit of the actors who aren't registered. Since Katrina is the only big star who doesn't have the card, we wanted to know how we could help her out."

According to Chaturvedi, registration costs just Rs 600, but comes with an insurance of Rs 2 lakh with coverage that extends to shoots outside the country.

Selena Gomez Determined to be a Movie Star

Selena Gomez says she is more committed to pursuing an acting career than to make music.

The Disney star is set to debut her first feature film, Monte Carlos, in theaters on Friday, Jul 1, 201.

Speaking with the Chicago Tribune, Gomez compared her singing career and acting skills.

"For me my music is fun. I don't really take my music that serious. I love inspiring people and I love making good music, but I don't stress about it. I don't think I'm ever going to win a Grammy, and I'm OK with that. Acting is something I work really, really hard on that I throw myself into a situation where I do work 18 hours a day. And I do hope to see longevity. And I hope to be rewarded with really great people and great actresses and people I get to work with, so I hope [that's what happens]."

Though 18-year-old Selena recently released a new music album, "When the Sun Goes Down," on Tuesday Jun 28, 2011, she says she'd rather be acting than singing in the years to come.

"I do enjoy my music; I'm very passionate about the music. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't be able to sing and tour and all of that's really fun. I just think for the sake of when I'm 20, 23, 25 and I'm a little bit exhausted, I think I'm going to stick to acting."

Selena will be on tour this summer promoting her music.

The former cast member of the Barney and Friends show, does admit her transition to Hollywood films may be challenging.

"…I don't know if I will be able to make the transition because it's going to be a hard one, and there [are] probably a lot of adults that probably don't take me seriously in the film industry. But at the same time I'm not a ballsy kind of girl."

Selena has admitted, in the past, to be inspired by former fellow Disney star, Shia LaBeouf. Selena recently told Billboard that she wants to follow in Shia LeBeouf's footsteps. The Transformers series hero, LaBeouf too started out with the Disney channel and successfully transitioned to films as an adult star.

Reacting to recent media headlines such as 'Bieber Supports Gomez At Premiere,' while promoting Monte Carlo in NYC, Selena said she would have preferred the reports to focus on her acting and film.

Selena is eager to earn a place in the movie business, but is cool with her boyfriend getting more attention, for now.

"That's fine. Comes with the job. Obviously I don't want that to be the title. I had a very fun night with Leighton and Katie and we were there promoting our movie, so obviously I wish it was more about that."

Selena says she is not picky on what kind of roles she wants to take on: "I'm open to all of it. Comedy, drama, romance, thriller, all of it...Obviously I wouldn't do another series, but I don't dislike the channel. The channel has done a lot for me, so I would say I want to keep my relationship with them. If there's a film opportunity that comes up that I think is good I'll do it."

Fast And Furious 6 Release On May 24 2013

Mark your calendars, Film Fans: Universal Studios has announced that engines will roar on another Fast & Furious film. The sixth edition of the franchise is set for theatrical release on May 24, 2013.

News of another Fast hit comes as little surprise — after all, Fast Five, the latest in the longrunning Fast and the Furious film series, left the competition in the dust to top the weekend box office in North America last month. The film stars Ludacris and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and sees screen hunks Vin Diesel and Paul Walker reprising the roles they made famous in the 2000 original. Fast Five took in an estimated gross of $83.6 million — that’s the best opening for a film so far this year. The sum also speeds past the $71 million haul of its predecessor, Fast & Furious, which opened two years ago. Fast Five also posted April’s largest opening day ever with $33.2 million in tickets sold on Friday. The action flick added $81.4 million overseas to bring its worldwide total to $165 million.

Miranda Lambert “The Voice” Season Finale Performance

Country superstar Miranda Lambert will perform on Wednesday’s season finale of The Voice — the NBC singing competition that happens to feature her new husband Blake Shelton as one of its vocal coaches.

The songstress — who won a Grammy for her single “The House That Built Me” — will perform a duet with Dia Frampton, the finalist who represents Shelton’s team. Miranda says she is “thrilled” to be part of the popular program.

“It’s been a joy watching my husband grow so attached to his team. Truthfully, I am a little jealous that I am not a coach myself. I can’t wait to be a part of it.”

Lambert and Shelton wed last month.

Hailee Steinfeld’s Miu Miu ad is here — despite initial concerns about the teenager’s ability to convincingly hock designer threads to women twice her age. The Oscar nominee, 14, wears a black bird-print dress, to-die-for shoe boots, chic sunglasses, topped off with an oversized clutch in her first campaign for the fashion house.

The Autumn/Winter 2011-12 campaign was shot by Bruce Weber –- a change of direction for Miu Miu, which has used the famous photog-duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott for its previous nine seasons of campaigns. Hailee was handpicked for the campaign by creative director Miuccia Prada after she struck up a friendship with both her Miu Miu and Prada labels. A very memorable Prada moment for Hailee was the strippy-print dress she donned at the 2011 Screen Actors Guild awards. The young actress also sat front row at Miu Miu’s Fall Fashion Show as a special guest of Miuccia.

“Miu Miu is such a perfect fit for her. Throughout awards season, they were the dresses she wanted to wear,” says Hailee’s stylist, Karla Welch.

The young star, who was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance in 2010′s box office western True Grit, follows in some high-profile footsteps in modelling for Miu Miu.
